Registration Steps:

1. Locate credit card for payment,

2. Go to secure registration website,

3. Enter email address and registration type (regular or student),

4. Enter personal details,

5. Option to select a field trip,

6. Confirm fee details and enter credit card information,

7. You are now done.  A confirmation screen will appear with a link to a receipt.  You will also be sent a confirmation email.

 

 

 

About the kayak field trip with Downriver Designs...

 

YOUR TOUR GUIDES: Bob Spain and Joy Emshoff are avid paddlers, competitive canoe racers and certified canoe and kayak instructors. Bob worked for over 30 years in the conservation field on resource protection and habitat programs with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. From 2006-2009 Bob managed the Coastal Paddling Trails Program and assisted with a conservation effort to protect seagrass in Redfish Bay which includes the Lighthouse Lakes Paddling Trail. Joy teaches canoe and kayak lessons in Austin and leads trips on Texas rivers. Joy is past President of the Texas Outdoor Woman’s Network that teaches women outdoors skills such as: canoeing, kayaking, fishing, camping etc. In 2009 Joy created Downriver Designs, a minority-owned business that specializes in river art, canoe/kayak instruction and paddling trail design. Joy and Bob, her husband and paddling partner, live in Austin.

 

KAYAK TOUR OF LIGHTHOUSE LAKES PADDLING TRAIL- Participants will meet at the Omni at 1:00 PM on Sunday February 7. Cars or vans will transport participants from the hotel to the Lighthouse Lakes Paddling Trial in Aransas Pass. Paddlers will receive a short briefing on safety and the conservation effort to protect seagrass in the area and pickup PFD’s, kayaks and paddles. Paddlers will tour the trail and paddle out to the Lydia Ann Lighthouse that was built in 1857. Paddlers will return to the put-in and depart by ground transportation at 5:30 PM for the hotel; arriving at 6:00PM. Additional information will be provided at the meeting.
